MCP’s business is to offer cellular coverage to passengers and crew onboard ferries and cruise ships. The service is offered to passengers roaming into the network while they are passengers onboard their network deployed ships.

MCP is established as a pure maritime service provider and offers the same service level to GSM and CDMA subscribers (not all ships have CDMA deployed). The radio network onboard the ship is connected to a mobile switching centre via a VSAT connection.

MCP is by ITU assigned an international number series, +882 32 for GSM while the CDMA part is +47. MCP is a Norwegian based company from where the GSM and CDMA network is operated.
